Sometimes it seems strange to me who professes to be Catholic. Now don’t get me wrong, it’s just that many do not know the meanings behind the ritual observances they participate in (or at least don’t act like it).
Wait, this applies to most Christians too… dang it!
I am not against traditions. Traditions help us remember the reasons we believe what we believe. In many ways they are the stories of our faith handed down through observances. But when we just practice the ritual and not apply it, or even know what it means, we lose out on the benefit of doing it in the first place. I pick on the Catholic church here only because they seem to observe many more rituals than the average Christian church. In many ways, they may actually know more that we do about our faith as Christians, if only because they hold to the traditions we have thrown out with each passing fad.

No comment regarding your post other than I think your cartoon looks like a new character for VeggieTales. Mr. Spears, Mr. Broccoli Spears.
You know you are correct in that… though for the record, I was doing a caricature of myself if I were a priest. Becca is wanting me to grow my hair out long again, but the in between stage makes me look a bit like a white man with an afro or Ronald McDonald on a bad hair day.
