Writing for me is a distillation process rather than a definitive stance on a certain subject. I choose a blog because it invites discussion about the context in the comments. The context of what I write here does play into the greater whole of who I am, but more than that, allows for me to work through new ideas that are challenging me to look at the Church in new ways. To take any one post and say that this is a definitive statement of who I am is folly. Rather it is a process of understanding and creative discourse.
People can and do respond in different ways to this. I would invite anyone to take part in the discussion here and not allow the writings here made in a very personal nature to become somehow entangled with life outside of this blog. To compare, it would be like opening up the notebook of a famous architect and saying all his designs are rubbish without looking at the finished product. Opening up through here is a vulnerable thing, slightly dangerous, but it is honest. This is the sketchbook, my desire is that my life and ministry is the painting.
