I never paid much attention to this little horn. I can’t remember where I got it or from whom. Maybe it was a Christmas decoration at one point, but it has hung about all year on a door knob to our hall closet. While wondering around the house looking for something to photograph I happened upon it, now I am curious as to the story behind it.
I have hit upon a technique I would like to try in this though. If you hang an item from a nail and photograph it from the bottom, you can effectively make it “float”. I would love to try this for a series in product photography with good lighting and a maybe something above to block off the ceiling.

I like it.
We still have a small wreath of berries hanging on our bedroom door from Christmas.
I want to see it if you try the floating technique.
I am buying a Canon 7d this coming month. Then, I’ll be saving up for some speedlights and a prime lens. This is part of the reason I redesigned the site with a larger text area…. bigger pictures.
I was thinking it may be a long time before I get the full studio together to try that technique in full but I may try it outside on the side of a building at some point. Probably from a more artistic ideology…
By the way, those wedding photographs looked good. Did you have fun doing it?
