By the way, you can try grasping his front paws when he jumps on you, then forcing him to walk backwards while you&#039;re holding his paws. Don&#039;t let him go. Then encourage him to jump, then grab his paws immediately and force him to walk backwards. Dogs don&#039;t like doing this. It can take as little as two or three times. 

After just a few times one night, Emma got to where she&#039;d just bark in frustration because she wanted to jump up, but knew she&#039;d dislike the consequences. So she&#039;d stand there and bark. Ah, now, the barking is another issue with her, as you and Becca know!  ;)

A friend of ours saw this in an agility dog trainer&#039;s DVD and it works. You must be consistent, though. That&#039;s what always gets us...Being consistent.  LOL
