Lessons in Abstraction

I made this little collage of some of my favorite detail parts of my latest abstract painting.   I think I like this collage better than the painting itself.

    Very nice. I like the idea and the result. I cut some of my collages into strips and reassemble, which can end up being more interesting than the initial collage. I haven’t done it with a painting – not yet anyway.

    This also reminds me of an old painting of mine where I painted a grid over the top to get lots of little squares to explore and view on their own:
