That picture is wonderful, really sums up that look. Emma is our grumbler. Stella has, since she was first with us, slept in bed with us. We kept her on a leash at first because we could immediately tell if she was fidgety and needed to go out. We do keep the bedroom door shut so the dogs are in there with us; otherwise, the cats coming in the room are sure to queue Stella into play mode and no one gets any sleep. The older two dogs sleep in their dog beds unless it's really chilly and WE want warm puppies. Stella lies down on the dog bed, but eventually sneaks back up.
