Today has been an interesting day. I’ve embarked on some new blog projects with a friend (not yet to be named). Some of these projects are potentially big deals and could be pretty good investments of time and energy, but most of all they promise to be fun.
So I spent some time today on putting together a business card for my wife. I erased the phone number for presentation here, but I am pretty pleased with the outcome.
I remixed the movie this evening into a new trailer as if Tim Burton had directed the movie “Happy Feet”. I hope you like it.
Often times it seems that work comes to me in strange ways. Usually on some level, I let myself be taken advantage of. I end up volunteering for some random task because I feel like I may be the most qualified to do the task or it’s a friend that I just want to help… or I just have a hard time saying “no” for some reason. This is probably one of my biggest downfalls for me on a personal level.
This feeling comes to me where I feel like I have volunteered myself for way too many pro-bono cases and too many causes for which I take interest. In this I work too much. Am I paid for it? Most of the time, no.
I don’t mind giving of myself for a worthy cause that really isn’t self-serving on the other person’s behalf, but am I letting my talents just serve other people’s selfish motivations rather than the things I feel are more worthy of my attentions?
The answer is yes.
Now comes the question “what do I do about it from here?”
I’ve seen many people write on how to move your ppt file over to an ipod for easy viewing on a TV screen, but there is one critical failure of most of these methods.

Here’s all you will need installed.
Then lets go through this step by step….
1. Select the file you want on your ipod and open it. I am choosing a ppt file from the church service on Dec 30th for this example.
2. Once it opens… go to print it and choose swf printer.
it will then ask you where you want to save the jpeg files. I usually create a new folder at this point.
otherwise you end up with a desktop that looks like this suddenly
3. Go to your graphics program that allows batch renaming… for me paint shop pro that I got free with my laptop.
it will then ask what files and how you want them renamed.
Here if you choose modify you can specifically choose “sequence”
Usually this takes about 1 second or less after you hit the start button.
if you go back to your folder where these slide images are saved, it should look like this now (note the filenames).
3. Rename your folder that these are in as your presentation name, and drop it in your my pictures folder (or whatever folder syncs with your ipod video).
After you sync, your presentation should be on your ipod. Just tweak your slideshow mode to only advance on click and make sure your transitions are how you want them.
Set your video mode to tv out if you are displaying that way, and you are set to present or practice your presentation.
Now isn’t that easier than carrying your pesky laptop with you?
