Okay, I’ve not had a very good evening on the emotional end, but looking at this picture from earlier this evening does at least make me smile. This is Dugal and Rogin hanging out together at the doggy park. Two full-blooded American Cocker Spaniels, same color, but completely different personalities.
There is even the same mole under their chins so I actually think they might be brothers from different litters two years apart. I rescued both of them from petland, so if they are using the same breeder, then it’s a possibility. I wish I knew for sure though.
Dugal is the “I eat everything” one who is always worried about Becca and I. I could probably feed him burgers for a month and he wouldn’t gain any weight. In fact, we only got puppy food this last month and he still isn’t gaining any. He sleeps at the foot of the bed and more than takes up his section of the bed by sneaking up right between us when we sleep.
Rogin so far is a bit more laid back. He sits when he eats and occasionally lays down and never is in a hurry to eat his food. He also has been known to steal shoes and teddy bears. He will run into Aidan’s room behind us and grab a teddy bear and run. It’s really cute watching a puppy try to carry a teddy bear twice as big as him away while trying to avoid detection. He’s more mischievous than Dugal and often tries to bite the stub of Dugal’s tail.
In other news, I am seriously beginning to get a little bummed out about the job search.
I’ve been getting lots of compliments when people see pictures of my dog Dugal, so I decided I would start posting some pictures around here somewhere. It’s a bit of a take off of what is done on www.dooce.com
I’ll keep these off the main feed for now, and you can view them on the page marked “Daily Dugal“
Enjoy.
Today has been an interesting day. I’ve embarked on some new blog projects with a friend (not yet to be named). Some of these projects are potentially big deals and could be pretty good investments of time and energy, but most of all they promise to be fun.
So I spent some time today on putting together a business card for my wife. I erased the phone number for presentation here, but I am pretty pleased with the outcome.

I’ve been thinking about ways to earn a little extra income over the next few months and I hit upon the idea of doing Pet Photography. This is one of those ideas that is still in it’s infancy and not really completely thought through yet. So today on a whim I had a little photo session with Keena to see what would happen. I captured the image above that I really liked.
I happen to be pretty decent with animals. I have 2 cats and a puppy right now and I love both animals and photography with a slant in the artistic direction.
I have a decent (decent for point and shoot) camera that I could use and have patience to play with the animals as well.
Let me show a few of the images I have taken. I only did minimal editing on these.
You have the one above of Keena then here are a few more.
I took this one today as well.
I did this about a week ago when I caught them sleeping together.
This is my puppy Dugal.
Dugal up close and really sleepy.
Hey, it’s an animal right?
and last but not least, one I took at the Zoo awhile back that I am proud of.
These Tigers were a little hard to capture behind the glass, but I think it turned out great.
After we took our little Cocker Pup, Dugal to the Vet to get him fixed he came home quite drugged at first. We didn’t quite know how drugged he was till we let him try to walk around once we got him home. If you’ve ever seen a dog drunk, here’s the completely drugged version. I especially like our cat, Elijah’s reaction to the drugged pup.
We quickly put him in his kennel and tried to keep him as calm as possible till the effects wore off.
This is in response to Christina’s first Video post of her dog. I thought I’d show off our new pup too.
This last week we acquired a new addition to the family.
This little Cocker pup caught our eye at a pet store and apparently our hearts too.
Now he is acclimating to our two cats. It can be a rough transition for a little pup to go through. Suddenly having two siblings that happen to be cats and bigger than him.
This is me holding him yesterday when we brought him home.
